2017年2月27日（月）～3月5日（日）までブラジル サンパウロで開かれるテニスの大会、「ATP World Tour Brasil Open」のエキシビション マッチにおいて「ボール犬」が昨年に引き続き採用されています。写真は2016年の様子です。
コート上でボールがネットに引っかかった場合、通常ならば「ボールボーイ」「ボールガール」が取りに行くのですが、ブラジルオープンでは、「ボールドッグ」が取りに行きます。ボールがネットになると横から何か出てきました。
ボールを咥えてプレイヤーのもとへ。ボールは大好きでお手の物です。
しかし、大好きなのでなかなか渡してくれません。観客からは笑い声が聞こえます。
2016年は4頭のボールドッグで、名前はフリーダ（Frida）、メル（Mel）、イザベラ（Isabelle）、コステラ（Costela）でブラジルの街でさまよっていた迷い犬を訓練してボールドッグにしています。

Gastao Elias and Roberto Carballes Baena have specially trained shelter dogs as ball boys for a fun match in Sao Paulo.
過去には、ニュージーランドで行われたビーナスウィリアムズのテニスの試合にもカワイイボールドッグが出ています。審判から餌をもらうところなんかとてもかわいいですよ。
