アメリカ同時多発テロ、9.11に出動した災害救助犬の最後の生き残りのブルターニュ（Bretagne）が亡くなりました。
2001年9月11日から、もうすぐはや15年が経ちます。
あの酷い状況の現場を、ブルターニュ（Bretagne）は生存者を探して歩き回りました。
近頃は、体の調子が悪くチェックのため動物病院に入っていくブルターニュの最後の姿を、消防士たちが列を作り直立敬礼して見送った。2016年6月6日、ブルターニュ永眠。享年16歳だった。ニュースのソース元：

Last known 9/11 search dog Bretagne euthanized in Houston area.
Firefighters gather as ailing golden retriever is put down.
Almost two dozen local firefighters and members of the search dog community honoured Bretagne with a hero's send-off, lining the entrance to the vet's office and saluting the old dog as she passed by.
After Bretagne was put down, her body was draped with an American flag.
She'll be taken to Texas A&M University, where vets will study possible effects that exposure to Ground Zero had on her body.

As members of Texas Task Force 1, Bretagne and her mom/handler Denise Corliss had an intense first deployment They joined nearly 100 other search and rescue dogs to find and save people trapped in the rubble of the World Trade Center after 9/11. They’ve had an unshakable bond ever since.
After hearing Bretagne’s story and learning that her 16th birthday was coming up, there was no question in our minds that she deserved a Dog’s Best Day for the ages.
To celebrate her birthday and thank her for her incredible service, we were honored to team up with the dog-lovers at 1 Hotels to bring this New York City hero and her mom back to the city for the ultimate Dog’s Best Day.
